THE MARS VOLTA Sort Of Finally Announces Their New Album

The rollout of this new album from The Mars Volta has been very confusing. It all started when The Mars Volta hit the road with Deftones and began playing their new record Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio in full live. Then it seemed that The Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala gave away his own copy of the record to a food delivery person. Keep in mind that Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio has never been officially announced, or even acknowledged by the band’s label Clouds Hill.

Now to make things even more confusing, Bixler-Zavala promoted a pre-order of the record from the Fingerprints Music shop in Long Beach, CA on his Instagram account. There’s a due date of April 11 on the shop’s website alongside this description: “The Mars Volta‘s ninth studio album represents a significant milestone for the band, which has been continually reinventing itself for more than 20 years. With Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio, they deliver an album that celebrates their roots, allowing them to reconnect with their origins. Fans are invited to embark on a musical journey.”

Amazon has it too… so uh, yeah. New album from The Mars Volta coming next month, apparently. The tracklist for Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio appears to be:
