My Chemical Romance busted out a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins’ 1995 hit “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” during their “Long Live The Black Parade” tour stop in San Francisco on Saturday, July 19th.
The moment took place after My Chemical Romance completed their playthrough of Welcome to the Black Parade, which they are performing in full for each night of their 2025 tour. During the extended encore section where the group dusts off songs from their three other studio albums, Gerard Way and co. launched into a riveting rendition of the Smashing Pumpkins tune whilst in the round on their B-stage. We caught all the action at San Francisco’s Oracle Park on Saturday, with photographer Raymond Ahner capturing photos of My Chem’s third “Black Parade” stadium show; check out our exclusive photo gallery of the concert. While the album playthrough section of the show was reprised from their earlier show in Seattle — complete with choreography and plenty of theatrical storytelling — the San Francisco show featured some new additions to the setlist, including “Thank You for the Venom,” “Summertime,” “Boy Division,” and “The Kids From Yesterday.”
