This Backdraft Racing Roadster was assembled circa 2008 and purchased by the seller in 2024. It is powered by a Roush 342R V8 with a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, MSD ignition, and custom valve covers, and the T5 five-speed manual transmission is linked with a limited-slip differential. The black bodywork has silver stripes and red fender hashmarks, and further equipment includes a roll hoop, bullet-style side mirrors, side-exit exhaust pipes, 17″ Halibrand-style wheels, and disc brakes. The cabin was fitted with saddle leather upholstery in 2026, and it also has Simpson racing harnesses, VDO gauges, and a fire extinguisher. Previously offered on BaT in May 2026, this Backdraft Racing Roadster is now offered again at no reserve with spare parts, a build binder, and a Florida title in the seller’s name describing the vehicle as a 1965 ROAS.
The fiberglass bodywork is finished in metallic black with silver over-the-top stripes and red fender hash marks. Exterior equipment includes a roll hoop, wind wings, bullet-style mirrors, a hood scoop, a LeMans-style fuel filler cap, quick jack bumperettes, and side-exit exhaust pipes with perforated heat shields.

The 17″ Halibrand-style wheels wear safety-wired three-eared knockoffs and are mounted with 235/45 front and 315/35 rear Nitto NT555 tires, which are said to have been installed in June 2025. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs.

The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in saddle leather upholstery and are fitted with red Simpson harnesses with Cobra-script pads, and the seller tells us the upholstery was fitted by Softside Trim of Miami, Florida, in January 2026. Further details include door pockets, AC-style pedals, and a Halon fire extinguisher.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a saddle leather-upholstered dashboard fascia with switchgear and backlit VDO instrumentation, including a 220-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and readouts for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer shows 5,400 miles, approximately 1,000 of which were added under current ownership.

The Roush Performance 342R V8 is said to utilize a Dart iron block, a forged crankshaft and H-beam connecting rods, Wiseco forged pistons, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. A Roush air cleaner lid and etched valve covers were specified during the build. Work in March 2026 included an oil change, wiring repairs, and replacement of the battery and ignition switch, according to the seller.

The engine breathes through a Holley 770-cfm carburetor atop an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold, and further equipment includes aluminum cylinder heads, a double-roller timing set, and MSD ignition components. Power is routed through a T5 five-speed manual transmission.

A dynamometer report from February 2012 lists peak output of 394 horsepower and 352 lb-ft of torque.

A collection of parts, including Speedhut instrumentation, a Euro-style horn kit, a windshield wiper system, spare emblems, and Schroth four-point racing harnesses, is included in the sale along with a build binder, technical information, and a battery cut-off key.
The vehicle is titled in Florida as a 1965 ROAS, and the title carries a Replica primary brand.
